About

Feed Filter uses AI to separate signal from noise in your social media feeds. It automatically detects and blurs corporate jargon, humblebragging, engagement bait, and AI-generated fluff — letting genuinely interesting content through.

**Currently supports LinkedIn and X (Twitter).**

## How It Works

A fast client-side heuristic pre-scores every post by keyword signals. High-confidence posts are resolved instantly. Ambiguous ones are sent to an LLM for a verdict, score, category, and reason. Posts are then unblurred (interesting), lightly blurred with a "?" indicator (maybe), or fully blurred (noise). Hover to peek, click to reveal.

## Features

- Real-time classification — posts are scored as they appear in your feed
- Smart blurring — noise is blurred, interesting content stays visible, "maybe" posts get a light blur you can peek through on hover
- Pre-filter heuristics — obvious posts are resolved without calling the AI at all
- Multiple AI providers — Ollama (free, local), Groq (free tier), OpenRouter (free models), or OpenAI
- Bring your own model — pick from the list or type any custom model ID
- Interest categories — toggle built-in categories (research, funding, technical, career, industry news, personal insight) or create your own with custom keywords
- Custom prompts — override or extend the system prompt to match your interests
- Adjustable thresholds — fine-tune how aggressively the filter acts with two sliders
- Stats dashboard — track how many posts you've scanned, your signal rate, streaks, and achievements
- Privacy-first — all data stays in your browser; API keys are stored locally

## Providers

**Ollama:** Completely free and local. Install Ollama, pull a model (e.g., gemma3:4b), and go. No API key needed.

**Groq:** Free tier with fast inference. Requires a free API key from groq.com.

**OpenRouter:** Access to free models from multiple providers. Free API key from openrouter.ai.

**OpenAI:** Paid models (GPT-4.1 Nano from $0.10/1M tokens). API key from platform.openai.com.

## Getting Started

1. Install the extension
2. Choose a provider in Settings (Ollama is selected by default)
3. For cloud providers, paste your API key and click Test
4. Browse LinkedIn or X — posts will be automatically filtered
5. Customize interest categories, thresholds, and prompts to your taste
