  Kai transcribes and summarizes your Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams calls, and any audio tab in Chrome — entirely on your device. No account. No upload. No meeting bot sitting awkwardly in the room.
  
  Press ⌘⇧K (or Ctrl+Shift+K on Windows) from any meeting tab. Kai captures the audio locally, transcribes it with Whisper running in your browser, and produces a clean summary + action items as soon as the call ends. Email the notes to your team in one click.

  WHY KAI IS DIFFERENT
  
  Most meeting tools push you into their web app, ask for a signup, stream your audio to their servers, and lock useful features behind a paid tier. Kai doesn't.
  
  • 100% on-device — your audio never leaves your computer. Whisper Base runs locally in your browser via WebGPU/WASM. No cloud STT, no audio upload, no third-party transcription service.
  • No account required — install, press the shortcut, you're recording. We don't have a login because we don't need one.
  • No meeting bot — Kai captures the tab audio directly. There's no awkward bot in the participant list, no extra invitee, no "Kai has joined the meeting" notification.
  • Works across Google Meet, Zoom (web client), and Microsoft Teams — one shortcut, every meeting.

  WHAT KAI DOES
  
  • Live transcription — Kai captures both meeting audio and your mic, then transcribes in real time using Whisper Base. English-only in v1.
  • Smart summary — when you stop the recording, Kai extracts a concise summary of what was discussed, decisions made, and topics covered.
  • Action items — Kai pulls out commitments and to-dos with the person responsible, surfaced as a clean list you can email or copy.
  • Side panel UI — view the live transcript and summary alongside your meeting, without leaving the tab.
  • Email your notes — one-click email to send the summary and action items to your team. No sign-in step.

  PRIVACY BY DEFAULT
  
  This extension is the 100% local surface for Kai. There is no server. Your audio, transcript, and summary are processed and stored on your device only.
  
  • Audio capture happens in an offscreen document inside the extension — never sent to any server.
  • Transcripts are stored locally on your machine.
  • The summary is generated by a local language model running in your browser (Chrome's built-in Prompt API, with a WebLLM fallback).
  • A recording indicator is visible in the toolbar and popup the entire time a microphone or tab-audio stream is open. No stealth recording, ever.

  GETTING STARTED
  
  1. Install Kai.
  2. Open your meeting tab (Google Meet, Zoom web, or Teams).
  3. Press ⌘⇧K (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+K (Windows / Linux). Or click the Kai icon in your toolbar.
  4. Grant microphone permission the first time. Kai uses it to mix your voice with the meeting audio.
  5. When the meeting ends, press the shortcut again or click "Stop". Kai produces the summary and action items.
  6. Email the notes to your team — or copy them anywhere.

  REQUIREMENTS
  
  • Chrome 121 or newer (Manifest V3 + offscreen documents).
  • Microphone access (Kai will prompt you the first time you record).
  • English-language meetings for v1. French / Spanish / German are on the roadmap.
