Open the extension on any job listing and Cover Me reads the job description, identifies the keywords hiring managers and applicant tracking systems look for, then generates a personalized cover letter and a rewritten resume matched to your specific experience. No templates. No generic filler. Every output is written to the specific role, company, and requirements of that posting.

Reads job postings directly from sites like LinkedIn and Indeed, plus company career pages, with a manual paste fallback for any other site.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Install Cover Me and upload your resume (PDF, DOCX, or TXT). Text is extracted on your device in seconds.

2. Navigate to any job posting and click the Cover Me icon in your toolbar.

3. Cover Me reads the job title, company name, and full job description from the page. It identifies the keywords, required skills, and qualifications the role demands.

4. In seconds, Cover Me generates a tailored professional cover letter that maps the job requirements to your specific experience and achievements — not a generic template.

5. Optionally click "Tailor Resume to Job" to have AI rewrite your resume bullets to match the role's ATS keywords — downloads as a formatted PDF instantly. Options include "Compact to one page", "Remove irrelevant bullets", and "Include summary". Your ATS score (0-100) and any keyword gaps are shown before you download.

6. Edit the letter inline, copy it to your clipboard, or download it as a formatted PDF. Add context (a referral, a real reason you want this role, experience not on your resume) and regenerate in one click. Every cover letter and tailored resume is saved to your Application history, grouped by job.

PRIVACY & SECURITY

Cover Me was built with privacy as a first principle. Your resume is PII — it should not be stored on servers you haven't consented to or trained on without your knowledge.

BYOK mode: Your resume and API key are encrypted on-device using AES-256-GCM via the Web Crypto API. Nothing is transmitted to Cover Me servers. Your data does not leave your machine.

Hosted mode: Your resume is encrypted at rest in our database using AES-256-GCM. It is never shared, never sold, and never used for AI model training.

Cover Me has no analytics, no tracking cookies, no ads, and no telemetry. The extension code is MIT licensed and fully public on GitHub — every line is auditable.

Cover Me is fully open source under the MIT license. The Chrome extension code, backend Edge Functions, and database schema are all public on GitHub. You can read every line, self-host with your own Supabase and Stripe, or contribute a scraper for a job board we don't yet support.

Open source means you don't have to trust our privacy claims — you can verify them.
