About
Remember StumbleUpon? We brought it back. And made it better. CureMyBoredom is the discovery toolbar for people who hate the algorithm. One click and you’re on something interesting — a weird wiki rabbit hole, a small personal blog, an obscure long-read, a piece of art you’d never have searched for. No infinite scroll. No engagement bait. No “for you” feed picking what gets the most clicks. How it works: • A persistent toolbar sits at the top of every tab. • Click "Cure!" to jump to the next interesting page. • React with 👍 / 👎 / 🤯 / 😂 / 😴 to teach the algorithm what you actually like. • Save pages to your collections. Share them. Submit pages you find. • When you land on a page that’s already in CureMyBoredom, the toolbar shows you who else has reacted to it. The algorithm: Your ratings build a taste graph that re-ranks every future batch. The more you use it, the better it gets at finding the kind of weird stuff you specifically like — not the kind that performs well in aggregate. New users get broad variety; long-time users get a feed that knows them. Where the pages come from: A community of curators submits pages. Top posts from quality subreddits, hand-picked RSS feeds, and the small/personal/retro web get pulled in automatically. Bad domains get blocked. Sketchy URLs get rejected. Reports get reviewed. The whole catalog refreshes daily. What this extension is, technically: • A toolbar that injects on every page so you can act on whatever you’re looking at. • A queue prefetcher that has your next "Cure" ready to go before you click it. • A bridge to your account on curemyboredom.com so reactions and saves sync. What this extension does not do: • It does not read or modify the content of any page you visit. • It does not track your browsing history or send page data to a server. • It does not show ads or inject affiliate links. The only data the extension sees is the URL of the page you’re currently on, which it sends to curemyboredom.com to check whether that page is in our catalog (so the toolbar can show the right state). That URL is not stored against your identity unless you take a deliberate action — Cure, Skip, React, Save, Share, or Submit. Sign in is optional. Anonymous users can still cure pages and react. Signed-in users get personalization, collections, streaks, and a profile. If something’s broken or you have an idea, email [email protected] curemyboredom.com
