Local AI turns Chrome’s built-in on-device AI into a practical assistant for the pages you already read.

Chrome (starting from version 148) can now run Gemini Nano locally on supported devices. Local AI uses that local model to help you ask questions about the current webpage and generate summaries directly inside the page, without API keys, paid providers, accounts, or cloud AI calls.

Your page content stays on your computer. The extension does not send data to any third-party AI provider. Once Chrome’s local AI model is available on your device, Local AI can keep working offline.

Use it to quickly understand articles, documentation, research pages, long posts, and dense web content without leaving the current tab or pasting private browsing context into another app.
