About

Aeterna turns every new tab into a dashboard for the one date that matters
most to you — a birth, a sobriety day, a company founding, an anniversary,
anything you'd count time from. Pick your starting point once, and Aeterna
tracks it down to the millisecond, every time you open a tab.

At its center is a precision countdown/count-up clock, an orbiting-planets
visualization where each planet's position reflects how many of its own
orbital periods you've lived through, and automatic milestone celebrations
(with confetti) as you cross round numbers of days, years, and planetary
orbits.

Beyond the core countdown, Aeterna includes a handful of more unusual ways
to look at the same timestamp:

• Precision countdown/count-up, accurate to the millisecond, with automatic
milestone detection (day counts, birthdays, orbital anniversaries)
• Milestone celebrations with a full confetti animation the moment you
  cross one
• An orbiting-planets visualization (Earth, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn)
mapped to real orbital periods, with four selectable central-star themes
• Generative ambient audio — a real-time procedural synth (not audio
files) with Drone, Clock, and Harmony presets that respond to how close
you are to your next milestone
• Multiverse calendars — see your epoch expressed as a Unix timestamp in
decimal/hexadecimal/binary, a Mayan Long Count date, and a French
  Republican calendar date
• Time capsules — write a message to your future self, locked until a
  chosen future milestone
• A temporal sandbox — project your epoch onto any arbitrary future date
  and see the resulting stats
• Zen mode, for a distraction-free single-number view
• E-ink mode, a flat monochrome rendering built for e-ink and
  low-power displays

Everything is stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local —
there are no accounts and no analytics or tracking. The one exception:
choosing the optional Gmail delivery method for a time capsule opens a
pre-filled Gmail compose window containing that capsule's message, which
sends its content to Google as part of composing the email — locally
sealed capsules (the default option) are never sent anywhere.
