Scene Echo - Capture is the companion extension for Scene Echo (sceneecho.com), an AI platform for decoding cinematography by understanding the lighting, composition, color of frames (images) & videos and understanding the decisions went behind those scenes so that filmmakers, film students can use that learning on their own projects.

The extension does one thing: it gets a frame out of your browser and into your Scene Echo account in a single shortcut. No more screenshotting, saving the file, switching tabs, and dragging it into the web app. Press one hotkey, pick a collection, done.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Capture the current frame of any web video that isn't DRM-protected (YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, and most web video work)
• Drag to select just the area you want, so you don't capture the surrounding website UI
• Choose which Scene Echo collection the frame goes into — your last collection is remembered
• Optionally toggle "Run analysis on upload" so composition and lighting insights start running the moment the frame uploads
• Use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Shift+S (macOS) or Alt+Shift+S (Windows / Linux)
• Track upload + analysis progress in the popup with a real percentage bar

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

• It does not read or transmit anything from the page beyond the frame you choose to upload
• It does not track your browsing
• It does not run any AI on your device
• It does not work on DRM-protected platforms like Netflix, Disney+, or HBO Max — browsers intentionally block frame access there
