NovaTab is a minimalist new tab page for Chrome — built to get you from "open new tab" to "exactly where you need to be" in three seconds. No noisy widgets, no recommendation feeds, no upsells. Just your pinned sites, your bookmarks, your history, and a search box that knows what you mean.

· Universal search bar — built-in Google / Bing / DuckDuckGo / Baidu, switch with one click, focus instantly by pressing "/".

· Pinned sites & folders — keep your most-used sites and folders on the home screen. Pins are stored as real Chrome bookmarks (in a dedicated "HubTabPinData" folder), so Chrome's native bookmark sync carries them across every device you're signed into — no third-party account required.

· Most-visited row — surfaces Chrome's own top-sites list as a zero-setup shortcut grid.

· Smart search suggestions — when you type into the search bar, NovaTab merges matches from your bookmarks and recent history, ranked by relevance with bookmarks prioritized. The page you visited yesterday is one keystroke away.

· AI bookmark organizer (optional) — let an LLM cluster your messy bookmarks into clean topical groups in one click, with a preview-before-apply step. Bring your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint and model, or use the bundled default with zero configuration.

· Site health check (optional) — scan every bookmark for reachability in the background and flag dead links automatically. No more "click and 404".

· Liquid-glass aesthetics — animated mesh-gradient background and Apple-style glass surfaces by default. Plus custom wallpapers, dark / light themes, and a personal accent color picker.

· Cross-device sync — settings and the AI classification result ride on chrome.storage.sync, scoped to your own Google account. Nothing passes through our servers.

· Bilingual UI — full Simplified Chinese and English, switchable on the fly.

Unless you explicitly click "Organize with AI", the extension makes no outbound network calls at all.
