Page Audio Recorder provides two local workflows:

• Preview and download a complete source audio file when the current page exposes one.
• Record decoded active-tab audio as a 32-bit IEEE Float WAV file.
• Start writing after sustained sound is detected while preserving a short pre-roll.
• Return to waiting mode after silence, reducing unnecessary silent recording data.
• Pause, resume, and stop recordings from the extension popup.
• Write large recordings progressively and recover interrupted WAV downloads.
• Process audio locally without accounts, analytics, telemetry, or audio uploads.

The extension accesses the active tab only after the user opens it or starts recording. Temporary recording data remains in browser-managed local storage until it is downloaded or deleted.

Direct source download is available only when a page exposes a complete downloadable resource. The extension does not bypass DRM, authentication, paywalls, access controls, or segmented streaming. Recorded WAV output represents decoded tab audio and is not guaranteed to be bit-identical to the server source.
