The purpose of this extension is to redefine the user interface for Row Details in Adaptive planning. Currently, it presents a very basic, non-user friendly UI, and this makes the interface usable.

Turn Workday Adaptive Planning’s Row Details popup into a full-screen, consultant-friendly workspace with faster navigation, cleaner filtering, and easier export.

The Row Details Enhancer was built by Commit Consulting to solve a daily pain point for Adaptive users reviewing large amounts of monthly detail across many accounts. Instead of forcing users to work inside a fixed-size popup with awkward scrollbars and limited
visibility, this extension expands the experience and adds practical tools that make review work faster and easier.

How does the extension work?

The extension activates when a user opens a Row Details popup in Adaptive Planning. From there, it automatically maximizes the window, resizes the locked and unlocked grid panes together, and adds a custom toolbar for faster analysis.

Users can jump directly to a year, isolate non-zero rows, filter accounts, highlight matching rows, and export the visible detail to CSV. The experience is designed specifically for Adaptive’s two-pane Row Details grid, so the frozen account column stays aligned
while the monthly data becomes much easier to work with.

It also adds synchronized scrolling across both panes and a mirror scrollbar pinned near the top of the enhanced view, making it much easier to navigate wide sets of monthly columns without losing your place.

Make Row Details Actually Usable

Adaptive’s native Row Details popup is small, rigid, and difficult to navigate when you need to review dozens of accounts across multiple years. This extension gives your team the space and controls they need to review supporting detail without constant horizonta scrolling and guesswork.

Get to the Right Time Period Faster

With built-in year jump buttons and active-year highlighting, users can move directly to the section they care about and focus on the right columns immediately. That means less hunting through headers and more time reviewing the numbers that matter.

Cut Through the Noise

Non-zero filtering, account filtering, and row highlighting help users reduce clutter and focus on the rows that actually need attention. When Row Details contains a large volume of data, these controls make the review process much faster and much more practical.
Export Detail Without Manual Cleanup

When it is time to share or analyze data outside the popup, users can export Row Details directly to CSV with a clean, structured file name based on the page metadata. This removes the need for messy manual copy-paste work and speeds up downstream analysis.
