PasteGuard helps prevent accidental leaks when you paste API keys, tokens, connection strings, and other secrets into supported web-based AI chat interfaces.

When you paste into a supported chat composer, PasteGuard scans the pasted text locally in your browser. If it detects a likely secret, it can:

- warn and ask what to do
- mask the secret and continue pasting
- block the paste completely

Detected patterns include:
- API keys
- access tokens
- bearer tokens
- JWTs
- private key blocks
- database connection strings
- sensitive .env-style assignments

PasteGuard works locally in Chrome only.
No analytics.
No telemetry.
No remote code.
No external network requests.

PasteGuard is designed for builders, developers, and anyone who regularly copies technical content into browser-based AI tools.
