About

forgot.ly helps you find pages in your Chrome history using natural-language search.

Instead of remembering exact titles or URLs, you can type what you remember (for example: “that blog post about React server components from last week”)
and forgot.ly ranks likely matches.

How it works:
• Reads your local Chrome history on your device
• Uses lightweight local pre-ranking to find likely candidates
• Sends only shortlisted candidates to OpenAI for semantic reranking
• Returns top matching pages with reasons

Features:
• Natural-language history search
• Adjustable lookback window
• Adjustable candidate limit for speed/cost control
• Simple popup UI + settings page

Privacy:
• Requires History permission to search your browsing history
• Shortlisted history candidates are sent to OpenAI to compute relevance
• Your OpenAI API key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local for your profile
