spillthe.rent helps NYC renters research a building before they sign a lease.

When you're browsing rentals on StreetEasy, Zillow, or Apartments.com, this extension shows a small banner with:
• Open HPD violation count for the matched building
• Community score when available
• One click to open the full building "rap sheet" on spillthe.rent

On spillthe.rent you can read tenant reviews, see rent reports, compare buildings, and check official NYC data (violations, bedbugs, and more). No landlord ads — built for renters.

How it works
1. Open a listing on a supported site.
2. The extension reads the listing address/title on that page only.
3. It asks spillthe.rent to match that address to our building database.
4. If we have data, you see warnings and a link to research further.

What we don't do
• We don't access sites other than the three listing domains and spillthe.rent.
• We don't collect passwords or payment info from listing sites.
• We don't change listing prices or contact landlords for you.
