About

Merge multiple ChatGPT chats into one new conversation — with their full context intact.

ChatGPT keeps every chat in its own silo. Hit "You've reached the maximum length for this conversation" and hours of work are stranded in a dead thread. Start a new chat and you're back at square one, re-explaining everything to a blank assistant that doesn't know who you are. Chat Merge for ChatGPT combines two or more of your conversations into one brand-new chat, pre-seeded so you can continue exactly where you left off — no copy-paste, no re-explaining, no starting over.

── WHAT IT DOES ──
• Merge two or more ChatGPT chats into a single new conversation.
• Consolidate the full history of every selected chat — losslessly, nothing dropped.
• Continue a maxed-out conversation after it hits its length limit.
• Turn a dozen scattered research chats into one source of truth.
• Onboard a fresh chat with everything it needs in one click.

── HOW IT WORKS ──
Open any chat's ⋯ menu → "Merge Chats." Pick the conversations to combine (and, optionally, type what you want to do next to steer it). Each chat is condensed into a faithful "handoff briefing" — and if anything can't be condensed, that chat falls back to its full transcript, so nothing is ever silently lost. The briefings are joined, an additive "current state / open threads" summary is synthesized across them, and a new chat opens already loaded with all of it. Preview and edit before sending, or auto-send. Copy or download the result as Markdown any time.

── YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS ──
Everything runs in your browser on chatgpt.com. Your access token is used only for same-origin calls to ChatGPT itself and is never logged, stored, or sent anywhere else.

── PERFECT FOR ──
• "Maximum length reached" — carry a dead thread into a fresh, working chat.
• Juggling parallel project chats that can't see each other.
• Consolidating research spread across many conversations.
• Handing a new chat everything it needs without retelling the whole story.

── FEATURES ──
• Merge / combine 2+ ChatGPT conversations into one new chat
• Full history preserved — nothing silently dropped
• Handoff-briefing condensing with automatic full-transcript fallback
• Cross-chat synthesis of current state and open threads
• Preview & edit before sending, or auto-send
• Copy / download the merged result as Markdown
• Cached briefings so re-runs are fast
• Follows each chat's visible branch, or flatten all turns by time

── FAQ ──
How do I continue a long ChatGPT conversation in a new chat?
Combine the old chat (or several) — the new chat opens pre-seeded with the full context, so you continue instantly.

Can I combine multiple ChatGPT chats into one?
Yes. Select two or more conversations and combine them into a single new chat.

Does it keep context across chats?
Yes — that's the whole point. Your history and details carry over so nothing is lost.

Is my data safe?
Your token never leaves your browser. Nothing is logged, stored, or sent to any server.
