About

BlinkBreak helps you protect your eyes during long screen sessions by guiding
you through the 20-20-20 rule, recommended by eye care professionals:

Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to blink and look at something 20
feet away.

HOW IT WORKS
• Every 20 minutes, a small BlinkBreak window opens in the top-right corner
of your screen with a short, guided break.
• Stage 1 — Blink slowly 20 times, with a soft tick and an animated eye icon
  to help you keep pace.
• Stage 2 — Look 20 feet away for 20 seconds, with a calming visual cue.
• Confirm you're done and BlinkBreak gets out of your way until the next
break — with a small celebration to keep you motivated.
• Not at your desk? BlinkBreak checks that you're actually active before
interrupting you, and can send a notification if Chrome is minimized.
• Need a few more minutes? Snooze any break for 5 minutes with one click.

WHY IT MATTERS
Staring at screens for hours reduces your blink rate and contributes to
digital eye strain and dry eyes. The 20-20-20 rule is a simple, well-known
habit that helps reduce that strain.

PRIVACY
BlinkBreak runs entirely on your device. It does not collect, store, or
transmit any personal data, and has no account system or analytics. Full
