    description
Chrome Tab Monitor enforces configurable limits on the number of open tabs per window and the total number of browser windows. When a limit is exceeded, the extension acts automatically: excess tabs are closed (pinned tabs are always protected), and excess windows receive a visible countdown page before being removed.

The extension is designed for corporate and managed environments and works on both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Administrators can lock settings via Group Policy Objects (GPO) and Windows managed storage, preventing end users from overriding configured limits.

    Key features:

    - Tab limit per window — configurable from 1 to 100 (default: 6)
    - Window limit — configurable total browser windows (default: 2)
    - Auto-close — automatically closes excess tabs; pinned and focused tabs are never closed
    - Window warning page — full-page countdown before an excess window is closed, with a manual close button
    - Real-time popup dashboard — an at-a-glance status banner plus live per-window tab counts with color-coded progress bars (green within limits, red when exceeded)
    - Activity log — timestamped record of every enforcement action
    - Enterprise policy support — deploy and lock all settings centrally on Chrome and Edge via Group Policy
    - Badge indicator — green when within limits, red when any limit is exceeded
    - Dark and light themes — respects system preference, toggle available in the popup

    Privacy:

All data is stored locally in the browser using chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.managed. The extension makes no external network requests and collects no telemetry, analytics, or personal data. No account is required.

    description
Tab Monitor is a powerful Chrome extension that helps you take control of browser tab and window overload. It monitors both the number of tabs per window AND the total number of browser windows, with intelligent auto-closing, real-time statistics, and a clean professional interface.
    Why Tab Monitor?
Too many tabs slow down your browser, eat up memory, and kill your focus. Tab Monitor automatically enforces the limits you set — so you can stay productive without thinking about it.
    Key Features:
🔹 Dual Monitoring — Track tabs per window and total windows with independent limits
🔹 Smart Auto-Close — Closes newest tabs first, never touches pinned or active tabs
🔹 Window Warnings — Professional countdown page before closing excess windows
🔹 Real-Time Dashboard — Live stats with per-window progress bars and violation counter
🔹 Activity Log — Color-coded event log with timestamps
🔹 Fully Configurable — Tab limits (1-100), window limits (1-10), countdown duration, notification preferences, and closure timing
🔹 Force Verification — Manually trigger a check across all windows at any time
    Privacy First:
✅ All data stored locally — nothing leaves your browser
    ✅ No external network requests
✅ No tracking, analytics, or data collection
    ✅ No account required
    How It Works:

Set your preferred tab limit per window (default: 5)
Set your maximum number of browser windows (default: 3)
Enable auto-close for tabs, windows, or both
The extension badge shows your total tab count — green when within limits, red when exceeded
Excess tabs are closed automatically. Excess windows get a warning countdown before closing.
