ChatGPT Exporter helps you save the full conversation you are viewing on ChatGPT — including text, images, attachments, code blocks, and more — in a format you can keep, share, or archive offline.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open any conversation on chatgpt.com or chat.openai.com
2. Click the extension icon
3. Choose your export format
4. The file will be prepared and you will be asked where to save and then your file downloads automatically
EXPORT FORMATS
• Markdown + files (.zip) — Recommended. Clean Markdown with images and attachments saved in a files folder.
• HTML + files (.zip) — A readable web page with all media included.
• Word (.docx) — Open directly in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
• PDF (.pdf) — A polished document for printing or sharing.
WHAT GETS EXPORTED
• Full message history from the current conversation
• User and assistant messages
• Code blocks with formatting
• Images and file attachments
• Generated images included in the chat

PRIVACY & PERMISSIONS
ChatGPT Exporter only runs when you click it. It reads the conversation from your active ChatGPT tab using your existing signed-in session — no separate login required.
The extension requests access only to the ChatGPT tab you are using. Optional permissions may be requested when downloading attachments hosted on external file servers.
Your exported data is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to any third-party servers.

REQUIREMENTS
• You must be signed in to ChatGPT
• Open the conversation you want to export before clicking the extension
