About
SwiftCheck tests your internet speed directly in Chrome — no websites to visit, no accounts to create, no waiting for a page to load. Just click the icon and run. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY MB/s AND NOT Mbps? ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Most speed tests report in Mbps (megabits). Your browser downloads, file manager, and every app on your PC show MB/s (megabytes). This causes constant confusion — you see "10 Mbps" on a speed test and wonder why your downloads only show 1.2 MB/s. SwiftCheck shows MB/s — the real number that matches what you actually see when downloading a file. 10 Mbps → 1.25 MB/s 50 Mbps → 6.25 MB/s 100 Mbps → 12.5 MB/s ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FEATURES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ - Ping / latency measurement - Download speed in MB/s - Upload speed in MB/s - Connection quality rating (Excellent / Good / Fair / Poor) Live animated speedometer — needle fluctuates like a real analog meter while the test runs Dynamic dial scale — probes your speed first, then sets the scale to match your connection. A slow line gets a 0–3 scale with full needle travel. A fast line gets 0–100. Results persist — close and reopen the popup anytime, your last result is still there with a timestamp Light and dark theme — toggle in the header, saved across sessions ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SwiftCheck collects absolutely nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts. Test traffic goes only to speed.cloudflare.com — the same infrastructure used by Cloudflare's own speed test. Results are stored locally on your device and never leave it. Permissions used: - storage — saves your theme preference and last result locally - speed.cloudflare.com — download and upload test traffic only ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ OPEN SOURCE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SwiftCheck is fully open source. No build tools, no dependencies — plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Read the code, modify it, or contribute on GitHub.
