Pull GitHub changes into Google AI Studio — instantly.

AI Studio can push your prompts and code to GitHub. But it can't pull them back. If you edit a file locally (Claude Code, VS Code, any editor), push to GitHub, then switch back to AI Studio — the Monaco editor still shows the old version. There's no pull button.

aistudio-sync fixes that.

A purple Pull button is injected directly into the AI Studio toolbar, sitting between the Share and Publish buttons. Click it and your latest GitHub commit loads into the editor in seconds.

HOW IT WORKS

Edit your prompts or code anywhere — AI Studio, Claude Code, VS Code, whatever.
Push to GitHub (AI Studio's built-in push, or git push from your terminal).
Switch back to AI Studio and click ↓ Pull.
The Monaco editor updates instantly. No copy-paste. No tab-switching.
FEATURES

• One-click Pull — toolbar button between Share and Publish
• Quick-link from the GitHub sidebar panel — when the GitHub tab is open in AI Studio settings, a Link button appears inside it. Map your project in one click without opening a new settings tab.
• Sync all files or specific paths — leave the file paths field empty to pull the entire repo, or restrict to specific files (e.g. src/prompt.md)
• Auto-sync on page load — if a mapping exists, the extension silently pulls on every AI Studio page load so you're always up to date
• Branch-aware — map any branch per project, switch repos and branches from the Settings page
• Multiple project mappings — map as many AI Studio projects as you like, each to a different repo and branch
• Private by design — your GitHub token is stored only in your browser's local storage, never sent to any server

Install the extension and click its icon
Click "Connect GitHub" — the extension links you directly to GitHub's token creation page with the right scopes (repo + read:user) already selected
Create the token and paste it back — it's validated instantly
Open any AI Studio project and either use the GitHub sidebar to link it in one click, or go to Settings to map it manually
Click ↓ Pull
No account required. No backend server. Completely open source.

PRIVACY

Your GitHub Personal Access Token is stored in chrome.storage.local — it never leaves your browser. All GitHub API calls are made directly from your browser to api.github.com using your token. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no third-party servers.

Developers who use Google AI Studio for prompt engineering or code generation, and want to work across AI Studio and a local editor (Claude Code, VS Code, Cursor, etc.) on the same GitHub repository. Push local changes to GitHub, pull them back into AI Studio — without losing your place.
