About

AnimTab brings AI characters into your browser — and keeps them
there. Open an .anim persona file and chat with the character on
the side of any tab. The avatar reacts to what you say, remembers
who you are, and runs entirely on your own computer.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

💬  Have real conversations
    Type, get a reply that streams in word by word. The character
    keeps the writing style and personality from the .anim file
    you loaded.

🎭  Watch them react
    The 3D avatar smiles when something amuses them, frowns when
    something doesn't, looks surprised at unexpected questions.
    Their face actually moves with the conversation, not in a
    loop.

🧠  Be remembered
    Tell the character your name once. Mention your dog. Talk
    about a project you're working on. Next time you open
    AnimTab, they remember. The Memory tab shows everything
    they've learned — you can edit it or wipe it clean any time.

🎓  A companion for learning and creative work
    Use a tutor persona to practice a language. Bounce ideas off
    a brainstorming partner. Talk through a story you're writing
    with a character who already knows the world. The persona
    file decides who they are; you decide what you do together.

    panel, or import a .anim file you created on animhaven.com.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT

🔒  Your conversations stay yours
    Nothing you type ever goes to a server. The AI runs on your
    own graphics card, your chat history sits in your own
    browser, and there is no account to sign up for. We can't
    read your messages because they never leave your computer.

💸  No subscription, no message limits, no ads
    Talk for as long as you want, as often as you want. You
    paid for your computer — use it.

✈️  Works offline
    The first time you open AnimTab, it downloads the AI model
    (about 1.5–3 GB, with a clear confirmation before it
    starts). After that, you can chat on a plane, on the train,
    or with the Wi-Fi off entirely.

🛡️  Built honestly
    AnimTab doesn't ask permission to read web pages, doesn't
    touch your other tabs, doesn't collect statistics, and
    doesn't show ads. The code is open source under the MIT
    license.

WHAT YOU NEED

• A reasonably modern desktop computer with a graphics card
• Chrome or Edge, version 113 or newer
• About 3–6 GB of free graphics memory (the bigger model
  is smarter; the smaller one still works great)
• Internet connection for the one-time setup download

If you're not sure whether your computer supports the underlying
graphics technology (WebGPU), AnimTab tells you on the first run
with a clear message — no cryptic errors.

A QUIET PROMISE

No tracking. No telemetry. No analytics. No accounts. No "your
conversations may be used to improve our service." Just you and
the character, on your own machine, like it should be.
