    ## What is TestChimp

TestChimp (https://testchimp.io) is a QA Platform purpose built for human + agent hybrid teams to effectively collaborate across test planning -> test authoring -> execution -> exploratory testing -> QA intelligence insights.

    ## Chrome Extension

This Chrome extension is the companion that brings context-aware AI assistance of TestChimp, while you are on your webapp, testing.

    1) Create Smart Tests from Manual Test Steps

Head to the Record tab, and start a capture session. It will record the actions you do, and generate playwright commands on the fly, as well as the web page context. The captured data is then used to generate Smart Tests - which are playwright scripts that also support AI native steps (with ai.act("do something") style steps). These SmartTests are also used by TestChimps' exploratory agents to do guided explorations and find issues that typically required manual testers.

    2) Report bugs with full context

Easily report bugs you find, tagging elements, areas on the page, directly from the browser. The screenshot will be taken and bounding boxes drawn on the selected areas and included in the bug, so that the full context of the bug is captured for easier troubleshooting and communication.

    3) AI enabled bug finding

Click on Find Bugs in the Bugs tab, and it will analyze the current DOM, recent console logs, recent network activity and screenshot of the current screen to identify bugs across many critical categories.

    - Visual Regression Testing: Upload a base image of a design or select from a screenshot captured by our Explore agent, to perform visual regression, where our AI will identify deviations from the design.

=== Collaborate with your IDE, right from your browser ===

Install the TestChimp VSCode extension (https://testchimp.io/documentation-vscode-extension) on your AI enabled IDE (Cursor etc.), and the chrome extension will collaborate with it to get fixes done - without leaving your browser.

    4) Fix Bugs in one-click

Click on any bug listed for the current page, and click "Fix in IDE". The extension will collect all the necessary context for the bug, and prompt your IDE to fix the issue.

    5) Visual Vibe Coding

Just point to elements / areas on your webapp and *"say the change you want to see"*. The extension will communicate the related files, screen details, and details about targeted elements added by you to the context window, to your IDE and get it implemented, making your vibe coding sessions even more seamless.

    ## What is TestChimp

TestChimp is a QA workflow layer for agents: test plans, Smart Tests in your repo, CI, and production behaviour in one loop—so you get traceability and coverage across what you planned, what you automated, and what users actually do.

    ## Chrome Extension
This extension brings that workflow into the browser while you test your app—so manual runs and script authoring both stay linked to TestChimp scenarios, not lost in screenshots or ad‑hoc notes.

    ### Manual — capture manual test sessions with scenario traceability

Run a planned scenario in the browser and record it as a manual test session tied to a TestChimp scenario (branch/environment included).

Capture steps as you interact, with screenshots for evidence
    * Add notes on any step—optionally tag an element or area for annotated screenshots
    * End as passed or failed; the session syncs to TestChimp for history, reporting, and coverage alongside automated tests
    * Report Bugs with exploratory testing sessions - just like with notes, you can tag an element or an area that corresponds to the bug, and report bugs directly from your exploratory test sessions - which will be tracked by TestChimp, visible in the Atlas page as well as bug listings.

    ### Script Gen — create Smart Tests from what you do in the browser

    * Start step capture to record actions and generate Playwright commands plus page context, then turn the capture into a Smart Test—Playwright scripts with optional AI-native steps (e.g. ai.act("…")) for resilient automation and guided exploration.

    * Capture can be started from test planning (“Record via extension”) so new tests stay tied to the right scenario.

### Manual — capture manual test sessions with scenario traceability
