tap. AI pulls out key takeaways while you read.

Highlights — Select any text on a page to save it as a highlight. AI 
adds a one-sentence annotation explaining why the passage matters in 
context.

Notes — Add a private note to any bookmark. Edit it inline from the 
sidebar without leaving the page you're on.

Bookova works great with no AI configured — search, collections, and 
reading queue are fully local. When you're ready for AI features, connect 
whichever provider you already use:

- Anthropic Claude (claude-haiku-4-5 and above)
- OpenAI GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini
- Google Gemini 1.5 Flash / Pro
- LM Studio — run AI entirely on your own machine
- Ollama — fully local, fully private

No Bookova account required. No subscription. No data sent anywhere except 
to the AI provider you choose.

  PRIVACY FIRST
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

All your bookmarks are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. 
There are no Bookova servers. Nothing is sold, shared, or sent anywhere 
without your explicit choice. Uninstalling the extension removes all data.

If you connect an AI provider, only the page title and description are 
sent for analysis — not the full page content. You can use LM Studio or 
Ollama for completely offline, fully private enrichment.

1. Click the Bookova icon → side panel opens
2. Click Save to add the current page
3. Browse, search, or type a question in Ask AI
4. Optional: Settings → AI Provider → connect Claude, GPT, or a local model

Type "bk" in the Chrome address bar for instant omnibox search across 
your entire library without opening the panel.
