About

VinForge is a precision VIN decoding and vehicle intelligence tool designed for fast, structured analysis directly within a Chrome side panel. It converts a standard 17-character VIN into actionable vehicle data, combining official NHTSA decode results with mapped failure patterns relevant to real-world diagnostics and claims workflows.

The tool is built for efficiency. Upon entry, the VIN is automatically interpreted without requiring additional input. A compact summary immediately surfaces the most critical vehicle attributes—year, make, model, engine, transmission, drivetrain, and trim—allowing for rapid identification without navigating excessive data.

Beyond the summary, VinForge provides layered access to deeper information. A collapsible full data section exposes all non-empty NHTSA fields in a clean, filterable layout, enabling quick lookup of specific attributes without clutter. A separate collapsible failure analysis section presents known failure patterns tied to engine families, platforms, and configurations. These insights are structured to reflect real diagnostic scenarios, including severity, common symptom patterns, and recommended verification steps
