OpnSkin Trade Assistant is the official browser extension for OpnSkin, the peer-to-peer skin marketplace for CS2, Dota 2, TF2, and Rust. It automates and secures every step of the trading process from sending trade offers to verifying escrow release so you can buy and sell skins faster and safer.

Without the extension, every P2P skin trade on OpnSkin requires multiple manual steps: finding the right trade offer on Steam, selecting the correct item, copying trade IDs, confirming receipt, and waiting for verification. The OpnSkin Trade Assistant handles all of this automatically in the background.

Automatic trade offer creation.
When a buyer purchases your skin on OpnSkin, click "Send Trade" and the extension opens Steam, pre-selects the correct item from your inventory, fills in the buyer as recipient, and prepares the trade offer. All you do is click confirm on Steam and approve on Steam Guard.

Instant trade confirmation
Once the trade is sent, the extension automatically detects it and notifies OpnSkin. No need to go back to the website, copy a trade ID, or click any confirmation button. The buyer is notified immediately.

Sent offers monitoring
The extension monitors your Steam sent offers page to detect when trades are confirmed by Steam Guard. If you need to confirm on mobile first, the extension will pick up the confirmation automatically when you return.

Automatic trade detection
When a seller sends you a Steam trade offer, click "Accept Trade" on OpnSkin and the extension finds the pending offer among all your Steam trade offers, redirects you to the correct page, and highlights the right trade.

One-click acceptance
Accept the trade on Steam and the extension automatically confirms receipt on OpnSkin. The escrow countdown starts immediately without any manual action on your part.

Trade receipt capture
After accepting a trade, the extension reads the Steam trade receipt to capture the new item ID and trade ID. This data is sent securely to OpnSkin to link the item to your transaction essential for the automated escrow verification later.

  ESCROW PROTECTION & VERIFICATION
  ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

OpnSkin uses an 8-day escrow period to protect both buyers and sellers. During this time, your funds are held safely while the extension works in the background to verify the trade.

Trade History monitoring Every 3 minutes, the extension checks Steam's Trade History API to verify that the trade is still valid. If Steam Support reverses a trade (a common scam vector), the extension detects it immediately and flags the transaction protecting the buyer from losing money.

Escrow verification at releas
When the 8-day escrow period ends, the extension re-verifies the trade through two independent methods:
  1. Trade History check confirms the trade was not reversed during the escrow period
  2. Inventory check verifies the item is in the correct player's inventory

This dual verification ensures that funds are only released when the trade is genuinely complete. If anything looks wrong, the transaction is flagged for admin review instead of being auto-released.

Automatic fund release
When verification passes, escrow funds are released instantly to the seller's wallet. If you're a seller, you'll receive an email notification prompting you to log in the extension
handles the verification automatically when you browse, and your payment is released within seconds.

  INVENTORY SYNC
  ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The extension periodically syncs your Steam inventory with OpnSkin. This means:
  • Your items appear on OpnSkin faster (including recently received and trade-locked items)
  • Price data and float values are kept up to date
  • You can list items for sale without waiting for the next server-side inventory refresh

The sync uses your authenticated Steam session, so it can see items that public inventory APIs cannot including items still under trade protection.

  • No passwords stored the extension uses your existing browser session
  • No data sold we never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
  • Minimal permissions only activates on Steam and OpnSkin pages
  • Open communication the extension only talks to opnskin.com and Steam APIs
  • Steam cookies are read locally to authenticate API calls they are never sent to OpnSkin servers
  • All communication with OpnSkin uses HTTPS with CSRF protection
  • You can uninstall at any time no data is collected after removal

  2. Log in to opnskin.com (create an account if you don't have one)
  3. Make sure you're logged in to steamcommunity.com in the same browser
  4. Start buying or selling the extension handles the rest
