GigScout provides additional insights and analytics for Upwork job listings, helping freelancers evaluate opportunities more efficiently before submitting proposals.

The extension analyzes information available on Upwork job pages and presents additional signals that may not be immediately obvious from the original listing. The goal is to help users make more informed decisions when choosing which jobs to pursue.

How It Works

GigScout operates while you browse Upwork job listings in your browser.

To use the extension, you must be signed in to your Upwork account. The extension works within your active Upwork session and processes job-related information visible on Upwork pages during normal use of the platform.

The extension extracts job-related information such as job descriptions, requirements, budget details, skills, and other visible job signals. This information is transmitted to a backend service where it is analyzed using semantic and statistical methods.

The resulting insights are returned to the extension and displayed directly within the browser.

Data Handling and Privacy

GigScout processes job-related content visible on Upwork job pages in order to generate insights and analytics.

The extension does not collect or transmit:

• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Private messages or chat content
• Payment methods, card details, or other sensitive billing information
• Security-related account information

The extension only processes job-related content available within the Upwork interface during normal platform usage.

How to Use

1. Open Upwork and navigate to a job listing.
2. Hold the Ctrl key and hover over a job listing or an open job page.
3. A panel will appear showing additional insights and analytics for that job.
4. Review the information to help assess the opportunity before submitting a proposal.

GigScout is intended as a decision-support tool. All insights are informational and should be considered alongside your own evaluation of a job opportunity.
