About

Scrybe is a privacy-focused bookmark and history sync extension for Chrome, Firefox, and compatible browsers.

It helps you keep bookmarks and browsing history available across different browsers without giving the server access to your private data. You can sync
between Chrome, Firefox, Chromium-based browsers, Firefox-based browsers, and supported mobile browsers such as Firefox for Android.

Scrybe encrypts your saved data locally in the extension before syncing it, so the backend stores only encrypted records.

Key features:

- Save the current tab as a bookmark
- View saved bookmarks from the extension popup
- Automatically save browser history entries
- Open saved history entries in a new tab
- Sync bookmarks and history across different browsers
- Pair Chrome, Firefox, and compatible browsers to the same account
- Pair a new browser using a temporary pairing code
- Recover an account using a recovery code
- Rename and delete bookmarks
- Delete individual history entries
- Clear synced history with confirmation
- Manage paired browsers and disconnect devices
- End-to-end encrypted sync design

Privacy model:

Scrybe is designed so the backend cannot decrypt your saved bookmarks or history. URLs, titles, favicons, and timestamps are encrypted locally before being
uploaded. Only browsers paired to your Scrybe account can decrypt synced data.

Account model:

Scrybe does not require an email address, username, or password. A new account is created directly from the extension. To use the same account on another
browser, generate a pairing code from an already connected browser, then enter it on the new browser. Scrybe also provides a recovery code when an account
is created, so access can be restored if all browsers are disconnected.

Use cases:

- Keep bookmarks available across Chrome, Firefox, and other supported browsers
- Maintain a private synced browsing history separate from browser-vendor sync
- Move between browsers without losing saved bookmarks or history
- Avoid account registration with email/password
- Keep synced browsing data encrypted from the server

Scrybe is built for users who want practical cross-browser sync while keeping their saved browsing data private.
