  WHAT IS LOOTIES?
  
  Looties is a marketplace built for developers and tech enthusiasts who collect (or want to sell) conference swag, branded merch, and limited-edition gear from the events they love. KubeCon T-shirts, React Summit hoodies, GitHub Universe socks, Datadog stickers, MotherDuck rubber ducks, vintage AWS jackets, Kubernetes plushies... if it was given out at a tech event, it likely lives on Looties.

  WHY IT EXISTS
  
  Developers accumulate years of swag. Some of it is genuinely cool. Some of it sits in a drawer because the conference t-shirt that used to fit no longer does, or the sticker collection has outgrown the laptop. On the other side, plenty of developers want a specific shirt they missed at a conference five years ago — a sold-out hoodie, a sticker for a tool they love, a hat from a meetup they couldn't attend.
  
  Looties matches those two sides. The extension makes it instant: while you're reading a blog post about a tool, watching a conference recap, or scrolling Hacker News, you can check whether someone is selling merch from that exact event without leaving the page.

  PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED
  
  The extension requests exactly one host permission. This is required to call the Looties REST API from inside the popup. There are no other permissions: no tabs access, no storage, no scripting, no content scripts, no background workers, no access to any web page you visit. If you uninstall the extension, nothing remains.

  — Not a price tracker. Prices change as sellers update listings; the extension shows the current price each time you search.
  — Not an auction tool. Looties is a fixed-price marketplace.
  — Not a wallet or a checkout. Purchases happen on looties.io.
  — Not affiliated with KubeCon, GitHub, the CNCF, or any other tech conference or company whose merch may appear in search results. Looties is an independent marketplace where sellers list items they personally own.

  ABOUT THE LOOTIES
  
  Looties.io is a community-driven marketplace for the kind of items that don't really fit anywhere else. Too niche for Vinted, too physical for Etsy, too nerdy for a Facebook group. It exists because developers love their swag and don't always know what to do with it after the conference is over. Sellers list what they own; buyers find what they couldn't get at the event.
