Changelog

Looties — Tech Swag Search is the fastest way to find conference swag, developer gear, and tech merchandise from your browser. Click the toolbar icon, type a keyword like "React", "GitHub", "NodeConf", or "Kubernetes", and live results from the Looties marketplace appear in a clean popup. One more click opens the listing on looties.io. No account. No tracking. No background activity. The extension only runs when you open the popup. --- WHAT IS LOOTIES? Looties is a marketplace built for developers and tech enthusiasts who collect (or want to sell) conference swag, branded merch, and limited-edition gear from the events they love. KubeCon T-shirts, React Summit hoodies, GitHub Universe socks, Datadog stickers, MotherDuck rubber ducks, vintage AWS jackets, Kubernetes plushies... if it was given out at a tech event, it likely lives on Looties. This extension brings that catalog one click away, anywhere on the web. --- WHY IT EXISTS Developers accumulate years of swag. Some of it is genuinely cool. Some of it sits in a drawer because the conference t-shirt that used to fit no longer does, or the sticker collection has outgrown the laptop. On the other side, plenty of developers want a specific shirt they missed at a conference five years ago — a sold-out hoodie, a sticker for a tool they love, a hat from a meetup they couldn't attend. Looties matches those two sides. The extension makes it instant: while you're reading a blog post about a tool, watching a conference recap, or scrolling Hacker News, you can check whether someone is selling merch from that exact event without leaving the page. --- KEY FEATURES — Instant keyword search. Type, wait 250 milliseconds, see results. No "Submit" button. — Live data. Results come from the same database that powers looties.io, so you always see current inventory. Drafts and sold items are filtered out automatically. — Searches title AND description. Find listings where the conference name is mentioned in the description, not just the title. — Real product photos in every result. — Prices in the listing's actual currency. Most listings are in euros, but the extension renders whatever currency the seller chose. — One-click open. Every result opens the corresponding listing page on looties.io in a new tab. — Tiny footprint. The entire extension is under 30 KB. No frameworks. No bundler. No background pages. — Privacy-respecting. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts, no user data sent anywhere except the public Looties API. The extension does not read any web page you visit. — Works everywhere. Pin it to the toolbar and it's one click away from any tab. --- WHO IT'S FOR — Conference-goers who want to track down merch from events they attended or wish they had. — Developers who collect stickers, plushies, hats, hoodies, or anything else from the tools and conferences they love. — Sellers on Looties who want a fast way to check what they (and other sellers) have listed. — Anyone who already shops on looties.io and prefers a keyboard-shortcut workflow over loading the homepage. --- PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED The extension requests exactly one host permission. This is required to call the Looties REST API from inside the popup. There are no other permissions: no tabs access, no storage, no scripting, no content scripts, no background workers, no access to any web page you visit. If you uninstall the extension, nothing remains. --- WHAT IT IS NOT — Not a price tracker. Prices change as sellers update listings; the extension shows the current price each time you search. — Not an auction tool. Looties is a fixed-price marketplace. — Not a wallet or a checkout. Purchases happen on looties.io. — Not affiliated with KubeCon, GitHub, the CNCF, or any other tech conference or company whose merch may appear in search results. Looties is an independent marketplace where sellers list items they personally own. --- PRIVACY POLICY Full privacy policy: https://looties.io/privacy In short: the extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. The only network requests it makes are read-only queries to the Looties API while the popup is open. --- SUPPORT Found a bug, want a feature, or want to report a missing search term? Open an issue or reach out via the contact form on looties.io. --- ABOUT THE LOOTIES Looties.io is a community-driven marketplace for the kind of items that don't really fit anywhere else. Too niche for Vinted, too physical for Etsy, too nerdy for a Facebook group. It exists because developers love their swag and don't always know what to do with it after the conference is over. Sellers list what they own; buyers find what they couldn't get at the event.
