Kikoe — Voice Answers for WaniKani & BunPro

About

Kikoe（聞こえ）— from 聞こえる, "to be heard" — lets you complete your WaniKani and BunPro reviews hands-free. Instead of typing, just speak your answer: Kikoe listens, matches what you said against the accepted answers, and submits it for you.

SPEAK, DON'T TYPE
Say the reading in Japanese or the meaning in English during reviews, lessons, and quizzes. Kikoe automatically switches between Japanese and English speech recognition depending on the question type, so you never have to think about input modes.

SMART MATCHING
Speech-to-text isn't perfect — Kikoe is built to handle its quirks:
• Romaji-to-hiragana conversion
• Fuzzy vowel matching for long/short vowel confusion
• Numeral recognition in both kanji and English
• Suru verb normalization
…and more, so a correct answer counts as correct.

BUILT FOR SPEED
• Lightning mode — auto-advance to the next card on a correct answer, with a configurable delay
• Voice commands — say "next" (or 次) to advance, "wrong" (or 間違い) to mark yourself incorrect
• Live transcript — an optional overlay shows exactly what Kikoe heard in real time
